Aminoantipyrine was diazotized and coupled with pentane-2,4-dione to derivatize 3-[(E)-(1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dhydro-1H-Pyrazole-4-yl)diazenyl] pentane-2,4-dione). The Co(II),Fe(III) and Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes of Ligand were also synthesized. DOPDPD was characterized based on the UV, IR, 1H and 13C NMR Spectroscopy, Elemental analysis and X-Ray crystallogragh. However, the structures of the complexes were determined on the basis of conductance studies, stoichiometric determination, IR and electronic spectra. The ligand was tridentate coordination through oxygen and nitrogen and formed complexes of octahideral geometry with all the metal ions with general formula  ML2  .The Ligand  at 20mg/cm3 concentration showed no activity against all the micro organisms.  However, the Co(II) complex was very active against all the microorganisms up to concentration .0.625 mg/cm3 when compared to ampicillin.
