Detection and Integration of Single Peak Curves using an Automated Approach with MATLAB

The analysis of peaks such as in electrochemical or chromatographic measurements can be challenging as large volumes of data are involved, and its manual processing is time-consuming and inefficient. Herein, we describe a simple approach for the identification and area calculation of peaks, and specifically electrochemical peaks, with MATLAB. This approach allows a more convenient and efficient analysis of experimental results with a deviation of less than 10% from the methods used today. Finally, we demonstrate how the proposed method can be implemented for the analysis of the electrochemical oxidation of gold nanoparticles adsorbed on a solid electrode by linear sweep voltammetry.
