Dr. Ofra Axelrod is a Deputy Director, Quality of Biological Products,  in the Institute for Standardization and Control of Pharmaceuticals, Israeli MOH.

Dr. Axelrod holds a PhD in Immunology from the Weizmann Institute of Science and has been involved in immunological research in various research institutes. In 1997, she established the Unit for Biological products  at the Institute for Standardization and Control of Pharmaceuticals and has headed the unit ever since.

As a participating member on a number of MOH committees dealing with biological products, Dr. Axelrod is currently active in the establishment of regulatory requirements and  policies concerning biological products, including those for cell and tissue based therapies.
