Prof. Ella Naparstek received her M.D. form the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem. Her post-doctoral training was in Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, in the Clinical Hematology Branch at the NIH and in Stanford University Medical School, where she was involved in basic research projects in stem cell biology and its regulatory mechanisms, experimental stem cell transplantation and gene therapy.
Until 1998 Prof. Naparstek was a senior physician in the Dept. of Bone Marrow Transplantation at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, where she performed the first bone marrow transplantation in Israel. In 1998 Prof. Naparstek had launched the Bone Marrow Transplantation program in Tel Aviv Medical Center, and in 2001 became the Chairman of the Hematology Institute and the Head of the Department of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation till 2014. Since 2015 she is a senior hematologist in Assuta Hospital and a consultant in the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit in Davidoff Cancer Center in Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center
