Cell Therapy Submissions in Europe: Successes and Failures

Head of Service at the Unit for Advanced Therapies and Biotechnology, Spanish Medicines Agency (AEMPS).

More than 17 years experience in basic research in the field of Immunology, developed in Spain and the UK, followed by 5 years as Scientific Director at Mologen, a German biotec company.

Since joining AEMPS in 2005, I have been mostly involved in the assessment of medicinal products of biological origin. I am the alternate member for Spain to the Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) at the EMA in London, and a member of several expert groups at AEMPS and at the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines (EDQM) in Strasbourg (France).
