On October 2013, ILAC- the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation general assembly which composed of network consists of 152 organizations from 118 economies includes ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) signatories, Associates, Affiliates, Stakeholders and Regional Cooperation Bodies vote and decides that ILAC will request ISO/CASCO to establish a new work item to comprehensively revise ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, with 84% of ILAC voting members submitted a ‘yes vote’ for ballot approval.
The ISO/IEC 17025 directly effects more than 47,000 CABs under ILAC umbrella accreditation activities of 90 accreditation bodies from 87 different economies that are signatories to the ILAC MRA
