Prof. Ella Naparstek received her M.D. form the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem and did her post-doctoral training in Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston. Prof. Naparstek was a visiting scientist in the Clinical Hematology Branch at the NIH and in Stanford University Medical School, where she was involved in basic research projects in stem cell biology and its regulatory mechanisms, experimental stem cell transplantation and gene therapy.
Until 1998 Prof. Naparstek was a senior physician in the Dept. of Bone Marrow Transplantation at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, where she performed the first bone marrow transplantation in Israel and is one of the leading figures in this field.
In 1998 Prof. Naparstek had joined the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, where she launched the Bone Marrow Transplantation program. In 2001 she became the Chairman of the Hematology Institute and the Head of the Department of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.
